It's very simple, you just need to park at the entrance to the playground and follow the signs for "pond 1" then "pond 2".
The 2km route runs alongside the two ponds and numerous benches and tables allow you to rest and admire the view of the ponds and the village of Rigney.

To fish
Covering a total area of approximately 7 hectares, the Rigney ponds are the perfect spot for peaceful fishing. They are ideal for picnics and enjoying relaxing moments in a calm atmosphere with family.
It is possible to fish there by the day or by the year by purchasing a "Rigney ponds" option from the Doubs Baumois Tourist Office or online at

Having a Picnic
Numerous picnic tables and benches are located along the path around the ponds.
They are well shaded and offer a superb view of the pond and the village of Rigney.

No, swimming is prohibited.
Can you fish without a fishing license in the Rigney ponds?
You must hold a “Rigney pond” fishing permit , which can be purchased for a day or an entire year, available at the Doubs Baumois Tourist Office or on www.cartedepeche.fr
If I already have an annual fishing permit from Doubs, can I fish in Rigney?
You can fish in Rigney in the Ognon river if you are on the Doubs department side BUT not in the Rigney ponds for which you must equip yourself with an “Rigney ponds” option in addition to your annual permit.
Can I walk my dog?
No, dogs are not allowed around the pond.
Is the place suitable for children?
Yes, the playground isn't right by the water, but about a hundred meters away. However, you must remain vigilant when your children are present, and adult supervision is essential.
