Two springs and a chapel
A true haven of peace , the Cusancin Valley invites you to stroll and wander . Once you reach the bottom of the valley, in the Val de Cusance, enjoy:
The Blue Spring , which is a calm and colorful underground resurgence.
The source of the Cusancin (or green source), which is a small, wilder stream.
Both are very easy to reach on foot and are well signposted! Afterwards, if you're so inclined, don't miss the Saint Ermenfroi chapel (a 10-minute walk). Perched on its rocky promontory, it overlooks the valley floor. Once up there, you'll have a lovely view of the Cusance valley!

The best hike in the valley.
For the more adventurous, starting from the church in the village of Cusance, you have the option of embarking on a 12km hike . First, gain some elevation on the ridges with beautiful views of the valley, then set off to discover the Blue and Green springs, passing by the Saint-Erminfroi chapel. A hike not to be missed.

Trout fishing in the Cusancin
The Cusancin, a first- category river and tributary of the Doubs, is ideal for experienced anglers . This river originates in the Cusance valley and is fed by two previously mentioned springs, the Blue Spring and the Green Spring, which are actually resurgences.
The course of this river is adorned with numerous meanders and remarkable nassis, these small natural dams forming a threshold across. The water therefore flows in small waterfalls all along its course.
A paradise for anglers, this river is quite popular, but you'll need to be experienced : trout and grayling had better watch out…

©OT Doubs Baumois How to get to the valley from Baume les Dames ?
By car, take the D50 towards Pontarlier. At the village of Pont les Moulins, turn left towards the Cusancin valley. From this village, the road runs along the river to the Cusance valley.
By bike, take the Eurovélo 6 towards Montbéliard, then after the footbridge over the Cusancin, turn right, pass in front of the old Ropp pipe factory, then go up the D19E on the left, towards Pont les Moulins via the D331.
