Maison du ministre Courvoisier
Jean Joseph Antoine Courvoisier (1775-1835), originally from a Jura family, had a remarkable career after the years of exile he endured due to his father's anti-revolutionary ideas. In 1802, he returned to France, choosing Baume-les-Dames to settle. From then on, an exemplary career opened up before him.
Substitute, attorney general in Besançon, attorney general in Lyon, Keeper of the Seals under Charles X were the functions he fulfilled throughout his life.
Appreciated in Baume-les-Dames for his generosity, he remains one of the most illustrious figures in Baume-les-Dames.
